Coronavirus pandemic: EU funds ensure fast production of protective equipment in Spain and Portugal

Fast mobilisation and reallocation of production resources has been key in tackling the constraints put on the medical systems by the coronavirus outbreak. Three projects near the Spanish-Portuguese border managed to set up production facilities and deliver much needed protective gear in record time for the medical personnel.

€88.9m worth of aid for Croatia earthquake relief

 

The European Commission have provided the first disbursement of financial aid to Croatia, under the EU Solidarity Fund, to help repair the damaged caused by a 5.3 magnitude earthquake that hit the capital city of Zagreb in March 2020. One person was killed and 27 others were injured in the seismic event.

Coronavirus response: €150 million of Cohesion policy funding reprogrammed to mitigate the social impact of the pandemic in Spain

The European Commission has approved the modification of the regional programmes for the Spanish Basque Country and Asturias, which foresees a redirection of €150 million of Cohesion policy funding, to strengthen the response capacities of the healthcare sector to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in the two regions.

EU Solidarity Fund: Commission gives financial support to Croatia following earthquake

The Commission announces today advance of financial aid worth €88.9 million under the EU Solidarity Fund to Croatia, following the devastating earthquake that hit the city of Zagreb and its surroundings on 22 March 2020. This comes as a contribution to the country's efforts to assist the population, restore essential infrastructures and services.
