Natura 2000

On 21 May 1992, both EU Habitats Directive and LIFE programme were approved. Natura 2000 is the largest network of protected areas in the world! 💚 In the EU it represents 27,800 sites, 18% of land, 9.5% of marine areas, 2,000 species and 230 habitat types. The EU keeps on protecting it – there is no future without nature.
