NYT visits the European Capital of Culture 2019

Seven hills, or six? Plovdiv, like Rome, is known as the “City of Seven Hills.” But, in fact, there are only six. Plovdiv, might have lost one of its hills but it won the honour of being the EU's European Capital of Culture 2019 alongside Matera, Italy.The New York Times just listed it as among the 52 places to go in 2019.
