The Commission is committed to making this vision a reality. This year, the first ever EU legislation on combating violence against women and domestic violence entered into force. It criminalises: 🛑physical violence 🛑psychological 🛑economic 🛑and sexual violence against women across the EU, both offline and online. For the first time ever, the EU criminalises gender-based cyber violence, such as non-consensual sharing of intimate images, including deepfakes. The Commission will continue to do everything possible to protect victims and punish offenders.
