Bulgaria is ready to become the 21st country to adopt the euro. Bulgaria has fulfilled all four of the required economic criteria. This will boost stability, growth and competitiveness and open new opportunities. As a result, European Commission has proposed to give the green light to move forward with the adoption process. The Council will now discuss the proposal and will make a final decision only after hearing the opinions of the European Parliament and the European Central Bank.
