To commemorate its presidency of the Council of the European Union, Spain has minted a stunning €2 coin, with approximately 1.5 million units set to circulate across Europe, starting from Madrid.One month ago, Presidencia española del Consejo de la UE took the helm of the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. Each country that uses the euro as its official currency may issue two commemorative coins per year. These coins have the same features, properties and common side as normal €2 coins.
