Cancer is a personal story for us all. 🎗️ The European Week against Cancer is here, and our Beating Cancer Plan is in the spotlight. A plan for better access to cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and care. 🎗 It is one of the world's most ambitious and comprehensive blueprints for action against cancer, backed by €4 billion in 🇪🇺 funding. 🎗 Four years on, it has already made a tangible difference for millions of cancer patients, families, and carers. 🎗 Earlier this year, we put forward new recommendations to significantly increase the uptake of two key vaccinations that can prevent two viral infections which can lead to cancer – Human papillomaviruses (HPV) and Hepatitis B virus (HBV). There is no health without mental health.Let's break the stigma around mental health and make a positive difference for everyone. This European Mental Health Week, the EU is: 💡 Investing €11 million to identify gaps and build capacity with WHO/Europe, along with launching a €9 million for multidisciplinary training. 🏫 Publishing new guidelines to address wellbeing and mental health of young people and teachers at school. These initiatives add to the EU's comprehensive approach to mental health which is already investing €1.23 billion into 20 flagship initiatives. #HealthUnion #MentalHealthWeek

🗳️ 64% of young Europeans intend to vote in the next European elections on 6-9 June.When it comes to youth and democracy, the latest Eurobarometer survey shows that European youth are active and ready to engage:🙋 64% said that they have taken part in youth organisations' activities in the past 12 months;✍️ 48% reported that they had taken action to change society including signing a petition or participating in a rally.Among the topics they are most active:📣 34% human rights📣 33% climate change and environment📣 29% health and wellbeing📣 29% equal rightsThe voices and ideas of young Europeans are essential for the future of our Union.#UseYourVote #EUelections2024 #Eurobarometer
