Portugal has been facing devastating forest fires.But they were not alone in this fight.The EU has activated its Civil Protection Mechanism to provide emergency support. Eight planes from four EU countries 🇪🇸 🇫🇷 🇮🇹 🇬🇷 were mobilised to support firefighters in the north of the country.The EU will help rebuild – the EU Solidarity Fund may cover parts of the damage and it is possible to mobilise up to €500 million under Portugal’s Cohesion Policy programmes.
