The latest Eurobarometer shows that almost 8 out of 10 Europeans agree that EU climate targets will spur new jobs and attract investments in the clean energy sector. The survey also reports that almost 7 out of 10 Europeans believe EU policies will reduce dependence on energy imports. Looking ahead: ➡️ 77% say the EU should have a stronger role in coordinating energy matters. ➡️ 69% think our policies will ensure reduced energy bills for households and businesses ➡️ 53% believe the EU should encourage its countries to fight energy poverty. These findings are well reflected in the ambition of the new Commission for 2024-2029, as set out in President von der Leyen’s Political Guidelines.
