Peace through strength and deterrence. The EU is taking decisive steps to take responsibility for its own defence and security. First, the EU is presenting solutions to close critical capability gaps, build a strong European defence industrial base, and prepare for all scenarios. The EU is also proposing the ReArm Europe Plan / Readiness 2030, an initiative to boost defence spending in EU Member States by over €800 billion, including: 🛡️ Up to 1.5% of GDP for defence investments over 4 years.🛡️ Up to €150 billion in EU loans for defence projects.🛡️ Additional ways to fund defence projects through the European Investment Bank and the new Savings and Investments Union strategy. Peace, democracy, freedom are being challenged. This is the hour the EU adapts, reacts, defends Europe if needed.
