The EU taking another step to ensure a green future with two new regulations on maritime transport and alternative fuel infrastructure. The FuelEU Maritime Regulation aims to reduce the greenhouse gas intensity of fuels used by the shipping sector from 2% in 2025 to as much as 80% by 2050. The Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation aims to increase the availability of recharging and refuelling stations for alternative fuels along the EU’s main transport corridors. It requires that fast recharging stations for cars, vans and heavy-duty vehicles are installed every 60 km by 2025.

Cultiver la paix et la cohésion sociale à travers la musique et le sport, c’est l’objectif du projet « Nos voix pour la paix » initié par l’UE au Burkina Faso, en collaboration avec un collectif de neuf musiciens.​​​Alors que le Burkina Faso est affecté par des attaques djihadistes et des déplacements massifs de populations, le projet « Nos voix pour la paix » a été initié par l'UE pour faire passer un message de paix dans 8 grandes villes du pays.9 artistes ont ainsi composé une chanson au titre évocateur, « Sauvons la paix ». Le clip de la chanson a été diffusé sur les réseaux sociaux et dans les grands médias du Burkina. Ces artistes ont également sillonné le pays pour organiser diverses activités sociales, et sensibiliser le public sur l'importance de la paix et de la cohésion sociale.Un artiste reconnu et engagé pour le projetLe projet « Nos voix pour la paix », financé par l'UE, a été porté par l'artiste burkinabè Alif Naaba, un chanteur et musicien engagé, reconnu sur la scène nationale et internationale. Il s'est notamment investi dans la composition de la musique d'une pièce de théâtre pour le 15ème anniversaire du génocide au Rwanda. Since its creation in 2001, the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism has been activated 700 times, channelling essential emergency assistance in and outside the EU.Besides the 27 EU countries, 9 other states are participating in the mechanism.But how does it work?📲 when a disaster overwhelms a country, it can request assistance through the EU’s Emergency Response Coordination Center (ERCC), which is active 24/7.🤝participating countries can offer emergency assistance, such as medical equipment or firefighting teams.📦 once the affected country accepts the offers, the ERCC coordinates the delivery of the aid.

🔍 Microplastics are in the food we eat and in the water we drink. They are everywhere – in the seas, rivers, and on land. European Commission has just adopted new measures to restrict microplastics intentionally added to products under the EU chemical legislation REACH. Among the products affected: 💧 Cosmetics containing microbeads, ⚽ The granular infill material used on artificial sport surfaces, ✨ Detergents, fabric softeners, glitter, fertilisers, plant protection products, toys, medicines and medical devices, just to name a few. 🎉 Another successful implementation of the European Union's borrowing plan! 💶 On behalf of the European Union, the European Commission raised €8 billion, including a €3 billion tap of #NextGenerationEU green bonds🌿 on the financial markets.💚 This transaction underlines the European Union's strong commitment to a sustainable and resilient #Europe.📈 The ransaction brings the total volume of NextGenerationEU green bond issuances to €47.2 billion, with proceeds being used to finance green projects from the Member States' national Recovery and Resilience plans (RRPs) – the roadmaps to spending under NextGenerationEU.💪 The deal received strong interest from investors, who placed bids totalling over €66 billion for the new 5-year bond and over €70 billion for the 24-year NGEU Green Bond. This equals oversubscription rates of approximately 13 times and 24 times, respectively.
