From now on, 𝐚𝐥𝐥 online platforms have to play by the rules of the Digital Services Act – in addition to the very large online platforms and search engines. EU's landmark rulebook will make the online environment safer, fairer, and more transparent by: ⏩ countering illegal content, goods, and services; ⏩ banning sensitive data use for targeted ads; ⏩ protecting minors, including a ban on the use of their personal data for profiling or targeted ads; ⏩ providing information about advertisements, such as why the ads are being shown to them; ⏩ ensuring effective and transparent content moderation; ⏩ and more. There is no excuse for gender-based violence.Yet, 1 in 3 women experience violence throughout their lifetime. European Commission welcomes the agreement reached between the @EuropeanParliament and the @eucouncil on the first ever EU legislation on combating violence against women and domestic violence.The Directive criminalises: 🛑physical violence 🛑psychological 🛑economic 🛑and sexual violence against women across the EU, both offline and online.
